So is Derek from Teen Wolf dead?

Is he? Cause when he hurt Scott in the last episode he said it'll heal
and when Stiles was gonna cut off his arm he said it'll heal. So what
the Alpha did to him will heal right? And he can't be dead cause he
has to teach Scott and his eyes were still open at the end of the
episode
